| "I have recently been working on a series of landscapes which are created and then fractured, thus creating a landscape within a landscape within a landscape. I like this method in consideration of the fact that artists look at nature with the idea of choosing and isolating with the ultimate goal of painting those parts which please them. My idea is to create the whole and then make the isolations, superimposing them over the reality. While they are originally easily identifiable objects, the whole is presented as it is understood by me structurally along the lines of cubism (reorganization of simple forms in to a geometric composition of flat, interrelated planes) and broken into semi abstractions." |
